Living Compassion

Five-Day Workshop in Nonviolent (Compassionate) Communication with Robert Gonzales 02/08 – 06/08/2019 (with German translation) [book here]

“There is a basic life current or impulse resonating in and through us as a yearning of the heart. This current and yearning manifest as human needs and values.” – Robert Gonzales

Through individual work, small group and whole group practices, meditations, and talks, Robert will lead you on a journey into your own essential living energy.

This workshop will include:

  1. Practices and Exercises that deepen our connection to our own vital life force.
  2. A meditation on the beauty of needs.
  3. An introduction to the fundamentals of self-compassion
Practices to stay connected to your authentic essence
  • Developing self-compassion
  • Practicing self-compassion
  • A deep capacity for self-acceptance and self-compassion
  • Increased capacity for vulnerability and mourning
  • A clear sense of your own spirituality

Because the workshop content will be determined by the skill level and experience of the participants, we ask that applicants have a minimum of 30 hours experience with an NVC trainer, or have been a part of an NVC practice group for at least a year, or are in a NVC practice group currently.

Robert’s evolutionary approach to Nonviolent Communication, with an emphasis on self-compassion, has helped thousands worldwide to find joy and freedom from suffering previously unavailable to them. Living Compassion is the body of work that has evolved from this emergence.

“As my exploration of NVC and spirituality deepened over the years, what has emerged in me is a clarity about ways to cultivate a daily practice of living compassion — day to day, moment by moment– with ourselves and in relationships with others. It is a practice of compassionately embracing all of life. My deep inquiry in life has led me to develop practical pathways of living in the fullness and flow of life as a daily spiritual practice — what I call Living Compassion. This workshop will include an introduction to Living Compassion, the embodiment of the living principles inherent in Nonviolent Communication.”

Robert Gonzales received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1989. He met Marshall Rosenberg in 1985 and has been offering NVC since 1986.
